Privacy Policy

Your privacy & confidentiality

We maintain a policy of strict privacy and confidentiality for all interactions with existing and prospective clients. All inquiries and interactions are strictly confidential. All inquiries, visits, conversations, in-person interactions, and written statements are considered part of an ongoing therapeutic consultation and are therefore private and confidential. In compliance with the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct no information of any kind is given to anyone outside of the organization unless you request that we do so in writing, except in the situations described below.

  • A serious and immediate threat to your life or your wellbeing.

  • A serious and immediate threat to the life or wellbeing of another person.

  • Suspicion of abuse of a child under the age of 17.

  • Report of imminent danger to the general community.

  • Court subpoenas.

Most courts recognize the importance of protecting the therapeutic relationship and we will vigorously assert therapist-client privilege should we receive a request for disclosure in a legal proceeding. In the event that one of these confidential exceptions should arise, we will disclose the minimum necessary to achieve the purpose of the exception (i.e., the minimum information necessary to protect your life or that of another should there be an immediate threat).
